Brigadier General Phineas Bowles

He raised Phineas Bowles’ Regiment of Dragoons at Reading, July 22, 1715. The regiment was sent to Ireland in Oct. 1718. When he died in 1722 the command of his regiment passed to Lieutenant General Phineas Bowles who was not his son as many online references state but rather was his cousin Phineas Bowles of Longborough House's son Phineas.
