Robert's marriage to Elizabeth Ferguson produced three sons, Robert, Thomas and Levi. Levi acquired the family property in 1885 and farmed it until 1911 when it was sold to Dave Wood, and Levi moved to Saskatchewan. The farm is presently owned and operated by Carl Sargent and family.

Thomas, brother of Levi, was born 1855. He married Margaret Madill and they settled on a farm in Cavan township on the former Highway 7A. They had 2 children, Norman and Amy. Neither married. Norman retained the farm until the early 1960's.

Walter lived alone until 1930 when he married Vera Whitfield. They raised 3 daughters, Eleanore (Sproule), Marilyn (Porter) and Doreen (Mann). During this time he purchased 50 acres west of the existing property, as well as 150 on Conc. 9 (ranch property) and 100 acre woodlot on Conc. 13 in Cavan swamp. He then purchased another 25 acres east and south of the buildings. The Farm was sold to Ken Ramsden in 1972. Walter died in 1981.
Another daughter of Robert Bowles, Evelyn, married Wesley Dainard and they farmed at Lot 1, Conc. 11, Cavan, and later at Lot 21, Conc. 12. Their family consisted of two sons, Edgar and Albert and a daughter Jean (Seabrooke).
